Welcome to ePresence Activity Module 6.0 for Moodle How-To
ePresence Activity Module 6.0 allows you to easily add navigable and searchable ePresence on-demand media presentations to your Moodle environment. Please follow the instructions below to install and configure your Moodle with ePresence.
NOTE: These instructions are written for ePresence Server 6.0.x and Moodle 1.9
1. Configuring ePresence Server
1.1 Open Web.Config
1.2 Add the following line inside <system.Web></system.web> :
<webServices><protocols><add name="HttpPost"/></protocols></webServices>1.3 Save Web.Config
2. Configuring Moodle
2.1 Create a directory called "epresence" in your moodle/mod directory, and unzip epresence_moodle60.zip into this newly created directory. If you are upgrading from a previous version of the ePresence Moodle module simply overwrite the old files with the new ones.
2.2 Navigate to http://yourMoodleServer/admin/ as an administrator. This will automatically execute initialization scripts. Click "Continue" once the scripts are finished running.
2.3 You will be prompted to enter some configuration information about the ePresence server from which you will be taking presentations. Enter the following information:
- Your ePresence server's URL - include a trailing forward slash at the end - e.g. http://www.your-server.com/
- The username of the account with administrator permissions (usually 'admin')
- The password for this admistrator account
- The community ID for the community whose presentations you will be using
(If you are upgrading from a previous version of the ePresence Moodle module you may not have to enter all of these fields).
Once you are finished entering your configuration information, click "Save Changes."
2.4 If you need to change your configuration at a later time, you can take the following steps:
Use the Site Administration menu (on the left) to open Modules -> Activities -> Manage Activities.
Locate ePresence Module in the list and click Settings.
3. Using the ePresence Activity Module
3.1 Make sure your ePresence Server and Moodle Server are up and running and you have at least one ePresence Presentation that plays well.
3.2 Open the course as an administrator and click the Turn Editing On button on the top-right of the screen.
3.3 Select ePresence from the add an activity list.
Wait a few moments for the presentations to load. Once they are loaded you will be able to select a folder from the "Repository Folder" drop-down box.
Select the archive title from the "Presentation Title" drop-down box.
The Title and URL will be filled in automatically.
Click Save. Your presentation will now appear inside your course as shown on this picture:
